but many people from near and far are drawn to the City of Millions of Lights.
The Christkindl markets look back on a long tradition,
and each of the five markets in Innsbruck exceptionally appeals to its visitors. 

Christkindlmarkt Oldtown Innsbruck

The small stands are a real treasure trove for unique souvenirs. Families should venture a detour into the Märchengasse. Numerous figures from the most famous fairy tales look out from house fronts, bay windows and roofs. Our tip: Visit the Christkindlmarkt during the week and enjoy the atmosphere.

Advent atmosphere at the Hungerburg

Design, romance and tranquillity - the Nordkettenbahn takes you directly to Innsbruck's most scenic vantage point: the Hungerburg and probably the smallest Christmas market in Innsbruck. Our tip: Visit the Christkindlmarkt between 16:00 and 18:00 h and enjoy the magnificent mountain panorama in daylight and evening light.

Christkindlmarkt Maria-Theresien-Straße

Innsbruck's boulevard welcomes you with a modern sea of lights and a several meters high illuminated rock crystal guards the small stands. Combine your visit to the culinary booths with a shopping stroll through the first shopping mile in Innsbruck.

Christkindlmarkt St. Nikolaus

Quiet, authentic and contemplative: this is how you experience Advent at the Christmas Market in St. Nikolaus. Those who cross the Inn will find one of the most beautiful Advent markets in the city.
Some market stalls cuddle up on the manageable Hans-Brenner-Platz on Innstraße. This is where Advent shows its best side: with traditional Christmas music and biscuits as good as from grandma.

The Marktplatz in the Advent

Perfect for families with children: In the pre-Christmas period, a Christmas market looking like a Tyrolean village is built on the Marktplatz right next to the Inn. There are also varied children's programs like pony riding, petting zoo, Punch and Judy show, and fairy tale lessons.
